What is GSC Pulse?
GSC Pulse is a Chrome extension that compares multiple Google Search Console properties and turns performance and technical signals into a prioritized decision workflow.
Why should I use GSC Pulse?
Use it when opening properties one by one takes too long and you need to know which property, cause, and evidence deserve attention first.
Who is GSC Pulse for?
SEO consultants, agencies, in-house teams, publishers, and site owners who manage more than one Search Console property.
Is GSC Pulse a replacement for Google Search Console?
No. Native Search Console remains the source of truth for complete report exploration, URL Inspection, exact issue samples, and supported changes.
Is it an Ahrefs or Semrush replacement?
No. It does not offer competitor, backlink, or keyword databases. It works with the user’s own Search Console properties.
Is GSC Pulse free?
Yes. The public Chrome Web Store extension is free.
What does the 10-second decision brief show?
It shows the property to review first, likely cause, site-versus-portfolio scope, directional estimated click loss, concentration, confidence, and the next evidence.
What is a Search Console portfolio?
A portfolio is a working set of related properties reviewed together, such as client sites, brands, countries, subdomains, or publications.
Which period should I use: 7, 28, or 90 days?
Use 7 days for fast incidents, 28 days for regular operating reviews, and 90 days for sustained movement and context.
What does portfolio-wide movement mean?
It means enough comparable properties moved in a consistent direction. GSC Pulse avoids the label when property coverage or aligned data is insufficient.
Can I add notes for releases or migrations?
Yes. Local annotations can record migrations, redesigns, title changes, campaigns, or other events on the relevant date.
What is estimated click loss?
It is the positive difference between previous-period and current-period clicks, used directionally for prioritization. It is not causal proof, revenue loss, or a forecast.
What is Search Console CTR?
CTR is clicks divided by impressions for the selected grouping and period. It should be read with position, intent, and SERP context.
Why can clicks fall while position stays stable?
CTR may change, impressions may decline, query mix may shift, or the SERP may include different features such as ads, maps, video, or generative answers.
Why do Search Console and analytics clicks differ?
They measure different events, apply different attribution and privacy rules, and can use different time zones or filters.
Are page and query lists complete exports?
No. Search Analytics returns top rows and applies aggregation, privacy, and row limits. GSC Pulse labels these rows as directional evidence.
Can GSC Pulse show the exact sitemap error?
The Sitemaps API provides status and counts but not every detailed issue name or sample URL. GSC Pulse shows confirmed fields, likely checks, repair steps, and the native verification link.
Does it submit or change sitemaps?
No. Search Console access is read-only.
Why are sitemap checks missing for a platform property?
Social and video platform properties are performance-reporting properties and do not use the website sitemap workflow.
Does GSC Pulse use URL Inspection API data?
The current product opens the relevant native URL Inspection workflow. It does not claim data that the implemented API flow does not retrieve.
Does GSC Pulse show AI visibility?
It shows relevant Search Appearance or generative AI data only when Google returns it. It does not create an artificial AI score.
What are AEO and GEO?
They are industry terms for answer-engine and generative-engine visibility. Google says optimizing for its generative AI experiences remains SEO.
Does llms.txt improve Google rankings?
No. Google says it does not use llms.txt for Search rankings or generative AI inclusion. The file is an optional community interoperability proposal.
Why does the site publish Markdown mirrors?
They provide clean optional context for systems that choose to consume them. The canonical HTML pages remain the public source of truth, and mirrors are noindex.
What Google permission does GSC Pulse request?
It requests the read-only Search Console scope through Chrome Identity.
Does Search Console data leave the browser?
Data is requested directly from Google APIs. Selected properties, preferences, notes, and cached scans remain in Chrome local storage and are not sent to a GSC Pulse application server.
Does GSC Pulse use remote code?
No. All executable JavaScript is packaged in the submitted Manifest V3 extension.
Can GSC Pulse change my website or Search Console settings?
No. The read-only scope does not permit those changes.
How do I revoke access?
Disconnect inside the extension, remove the extension, and revoke its Google account access from your account security settings.
Which browser is supported?
The public release targets Google Chrome. Other Chromium browsers are not presented as supported until separately tested.
Why does a property show little or no data?
The property may have low volume, incomplete dates, insufficient returned rows, a different freshness state, or an account permission issue.
How do I report a problem?
Use the Support page or email behlul@behlul.com with Chrome version, extension version, property type, selected period, error text, and reproduction steps.
